Brittany Jones | LMHC (she/her)
Since 2014 Brittany has worked in community-based care providing mental health counseling to families, adolescents, and young adults. Her background and clinical theory emphasizes creative clinical interventions, trauma informed care, treating persistent mental health and substance use/abuse, and model fidelity with family-oriented care in the home, community and school settings.
A primary function of her role is providing guidance and development as she teaches skills to children and families to manage their everyday conflicts and mental health needs using evidence supported practices including CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, ACRA, and Motivational Interviewing. Brittany believes that perspective and the meaning we attribute to situations significantly effect their impact – good or bad – on ourselves and our psyche. Her goal is to help those in transition undergoing significant life events create a positive schema and perspective of the events around them while gaining a sense of control over them. While working with adolescents and children suffering from severe and persistent mental health needs and their families by being a responsible role model, she prides herself on being able to relate to my clients and be a support as we strive to achieve their goals by fostering self-awareness and growth. She believes people learn best through experiences and unconditional empathy, so her main clinical repertoire with children is focused on experiential learning through art, music, movement; as well as your traditional talk practices.
