Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?
We don’t work directly/are not contracted with insurance companies here at South Shore Family Health Collaborative. We can, however, supply clients with a detailed receipt (or Superbill) that they can submit to an insurance provider that offers out-of-network reimbursement. That is something each client will need to check with their insurance provider prior to starting services.

What is Sex Therapy?
Sex therapy is talk therapy focused on sexual concerns. It is a combination of traditional psychotherapy, systems theory and behavioral therapy. For each session, the individual or couple will spend roughly half the session discussing and exploring issues pertaining or attached to the presenting problem, and the other half going over and building upon the take home experiences. Since sexuality is experienced both in the mind and to the body, therapy necessitates incorporating both in the treatment.
